Anti-aggressive activity of methyl jasmonate and the probable mechanism of its action in mice

► MJ has anti-aggressive activity that was not accompanied by sedation or catalepsy. ► MJ did not impair the defensive mechanisms of mice. ► P-chlorophenylalanine, 5-HT synthesis inhibitor reduced antiaggressive action of MJ. ► Fluoxetine, a 5-HT reuptake inhibitor, enhanced anti-aggressive effect of MJ.
