► Lu AA47070 is a novel adenosine A2A antagonist. ► Lu AA47070 suppressed pimozide-induced tremulous jaw movements in rats. ► Lu AA47070 also increased locomotion and decreased catalepsy in pimozide-treated rats. ► Lu AA47070 reversed the effects of haloperidol on effort-related choice behavior. ► Lu AA47070 may be useful for treating parkinsonism and depression.
