► 6-OHDA induces motor changes in male rats when injected in corpus striatum. ► Parkinsonism in rats is expressed by motor changes induced by apomorphine. ► Hemiparkinsonism in rats also induces cognitive and affective changes. ► Progesterone is able of preventing the onset of cognitive and affective changes. ► Imipramine is able of reverting the depression-like behavior of rats.
