Antidepressant activity of methyl jasmonate, a plant stress hormone in mice

► Methyl jasmonate (MJ), a plant stress hormone reduced the time of immobility in mice. ► MJ also enhanced yohimbine-induced lethality similar to imipramine. ► MJ did not significantly alter the spontaneous motor activity of mice. ► MJ has antidepressant-like property and might be useful in the treatment of depression.
