The effect of pictorial warnings on cigarette packages on attentional bias of smokers

► Attention to smoking cues contributes to the maintenance of addictive behaviour. ► We questioned if pictorial health warnings on cigarette packages affect attention. ► We found that light smokers divert their attention away from pictorial warnings. ► In contrast, for heavy smokers we observed a positive association with craving.
