Expression and immunoaffinity purification of recombinant dengue virus 2 NS1 protein as a cleavable SUMOstar fusion

► Dengue virus NS1 has been produced as a SUMOstar (S∗) tagged fusion protein in baculovirus. ► The S∗-tag increased both solubility and secretion of NS1. ► A new mouse monoclonal antibody (56.2) was generated to enable immunoaffinity purification of S∗-NS1. ► Purified S∗-NS1 is hexameric and glycosylated making it a useful tool to study NS1 function.
