Facile production of Aspergillus niger α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase in yeast

► GalNAc-ase from Aspergillus niger was expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain. ► Purification, characterization of the recombinant and wild enzyme are described. ► GalNAc-ase from non pathogenic source active in neutral pH has not been described yet. ► Unique properties of this enzyme can find a use for the enzymatic synthesis.
