Selected tetrapeptides lead to a GLP-1 release from the human enteroendocrine cell line NCI-H716

► NCI-H716 EC cells respond to selective tetrapeptides with a [Ca2+]i response and a GLP-1 secretion. ► Tetrapeptide sensing is mediated by store-operated calcium channels and may involve a novel GPCR. ► This study provides novel data on the sensing of protein hydrolysates that stimulate intestinal GLP-1 secretion.
