► Antioxidant properties of ghrelin have been recently demonstrated. ► Ghrelin could attenuate adverse effects of heating in the rat testis. ► This hormone accelerated regeneration process following heat exposure in testis. ► Ghrelin may act as a suppressor of degenerative effects upon testicular hyperthermia.
