Development of an immunochromatographic assay for diagnosing the production of IMP-type metallo-β-lactamases that mediate carbapenem resistance in Pseudomonas

► We prepared novel mAbs that bind to IMP-type metallo-beta-lactamase (MBLs). ► We designed the immunochromatographic assay using the mAbs. ► The assay detected all known subtypes of IMP-type MBL. ► The assay exactly identified the IMP-type MBLs production in Gram-negative bacteria. ► The assay is more rapid molecular-based diagnostic method compared with PCR analysis.
