Isolation and identification of quorum quenching bacteria from environmental samples

► We developed a high-throughput method for the isolation and identification of environmental AHL-degrading bacteria. ► The method was applied to 16 samples, yielding 59 isolates growing in minimal medium supplied with AHLs. ► Some isolates produce and secrete heat-stable, low molecular weight inhibitory compounds.
