CCL28 in the mouse hippocampal CA1 area and the dentate gyrus during and after pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus

► CCL28 is widely distributed in the mouse brain. ► In the hippocampus, CCL28 is localized in pyramidale neurons, granule cells and some interneurons. ► During and after status epilepticus, CCL28 is down-regulated in interneurons in the hippocampus. ► CCL28 is involved in the loss of hippocampal interneurons, and disinhibition of pyramidal neurons.
