Lipopolysaccharide-induced gene expression of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4 and interleukin-1β in roughskin sculpin (Trachidermus fasciatus)

► Isolate and characterize two cDNA (IRAK-4 and IL-1β) from roughskin sculpin. ► Both genes were broadly expressed in all the examined tissues. ► Both genes increased significantly in main immune organs post LPS injection. ► The existence and importance of TLR signaling in teleost fish brain was firstly evidenced. ► IRAK-4-mediated TLR signaling may play an important role in host innate immune response.
