Hematological parameters and phagocytic activity in fat snook (Centropomus parallelus) bred in captivity

► The hematological values in males are significant higher than those in females. ► The erythrocyte values in males increase with the progression of gonadal maturation. ► The phagocytic of macrophages was higher in summer and low in winter and fall. ► The winter is the season of the year least favorable the health of fat snook. ► The parameters studied could be utilized in the evaluation of the health of fat snook status of this species in captivity.
