Functionalised collagen spheres reduce H2O2 mediated apoptosis by scavenging overexpressed ROS

PLGA microspheres coated with collagen and decorated with MnO2 nanoparticles (PLGA-Col-MnO2) can scavenge the excess of reactive oxygen species and simultaneously generate oxygen in cells under oxidative stress. Treatment of these stressed cells with the PLGA-Col-MnO2 microspheres protects cells from oxidative stress by reducing the H2O2-mediated apoptosis.104
