Synthesis, crystal structure and thin-film-optical properties of 3-amino-2-(2-nitrophenyl)diazinyl-3-(morpholin-1-yl)acrylonitrile

► Azaenamine compound is prepared and it is found to have monoclinic space group, P21. ► The films have high absorption coefficient with optical band gap 2.27 eV. ► At wavelength value of 475 nm, the films have high refractive index and low absorption index.
