Structural analysis, vibrational spectra and coordinated normal of 2R-(−)-6-hydroxytremetone

► 2R-(−)-6-hydroxytremetone was characterized by infrared and Raman spectroscopy. ► A complete assignment of the observed spectral features is proposed. ► The theoretical calculations allowed us to obtain a set of scaled force constants. ► The nature of the benzyl and furan rings was studied by NBO analysis. ► The topological properties of the different rings were analyzed by Bader's theory.
