Enabling catalysis of Ru-CeO2 for propane oxidation in low temperature solid oxide fuel cells

► Nano-scale Ru well-dispersed in CeO2 matrix as catalysts. ► Efficient partial oxidation reforming of propane at low temperatures. ► Maximum power densities of 160-395 mW cm−2 are obtained at 400-500 °C for thin ceria-electrolyte SOFCs operating on propane-air fuel mixtures.
