Decomposition pathway of cubic Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3 − δ between 700 °C and 1000 °C analyzed by electron microscopic techniques

► We investigate the decomposition of BSCF by multiple electron microscopical methods. ► The formation of a hexagonal and a plate-like phase between 700 and 1000 °C is observed. ► The chemical composition of each phase is measured by EDXS. ► The crystallographic point groups of single grains are determined by CBED. ► High-resolution images of the plate-like phase are analyzed.
