Synthesis of new ionic intermediate sitting-atop complexes of free base meso-tetraarylporphyrin and phosphorus(V) chloride under solvent free conditions

Meso-tetraarylporphyrins (H2t(X)pp) and PCl5 leads to the formation of the intermediate sitting-atop complexes, [PCl3(H2t(X)pp)]Cl2, that two nitrogen atoms of pyrrolenine in the porphyrin core act as electron donors to a phosphorus(V) center and two pyrrolic protons remained still on the macrocycle.
