Synthesis and characterization of binuclear mercury(II) complexes of phosphorus ylides, X-ray analysis and multinuclear NMR measurements

The reactions of phosphorus ylides with mercury(II) halides are reported. These reactions lead to binuclear complexes. C-Coordination of ylides and trans-like structure of complexes are demonstrated by single crystal X-ray analyses. Theoretical studies showed that ylide O-coordinated structural isomers are very less stable than the observed C-coordinated ones.
