Heterobimetallic M(II)/Ru(II) (MÂ =Â Ni, Zn) complexes containing coordination and organometallic sites: Synthesis, characterization, luminescence and NLO properties

► Synthesis of heterobimetallic Ni(II)/Ru(II) and Zn(II)/Ru(II) complexes containing coordination and organometallic sites. ► Characterization by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis, 1H NMR and 31P NMR spectral studies. ► All complexes exhibit intraligand (π → π∗) fluorescence with high quantum yield in DMF. ► Electrochemical properties indicate a quasireversible redox behavior for all complexes. ► All complexes display the second harmonic generation (SHG) property.
