Synthesis and structure determination of two new dinuclear end-to-end doubly bridged azido- and thiocyanato-copper(II) complexes derived from diethyldiethylenetriamine

Two dinuclear bridged copper(II) azido and thiocyanato complexes of N,N-diethyl-diethylenetriamine: [Cu2(Et2dien)2(μ1,3-N3)2](ClO4)2 and [Cu2(Et2dien)2(μN,S-NCS)2](ClO4)2 were prepared and structurally characterized. The IR stretching frequencies of the azido, ν(N3-) and the thiocyanato, ν(NCS−) groups are discussed in relation to other related species.
