1-D arrays of Cu(I)-Schiff base maintained by fourfold phenyl embraces isolating diiodocuprate(I) anions

The synthesis and structure of [Cu(Phca2-dab)2][CuI2] which forms a crystal supramolecular motif is described. In this structure, cations are maintained in a one-dimensional array by local interactions analogous to the 4PE, while isolating a linear monomeric CuI2 anion.
