Hexachlororhenate(IV) salts of organic radical cations

Two novel salts of [ReCl6]2− with nitronyl nitroxide radical cations have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses, and variable temperature magnetic measurements. An hexagonal array of the cations and significant intermolecular antiferromagnetic interactions were observed in both compounds.
