Investigation of the multichromophoric character of two sulfonylurea herbicides: sulfometuron methyl and bensulfuron methyl. UV absorption spectra and fluorescence properties. Ab initio study of the conformations and ZINDO/S calculations of electronic spectra. Comparison with four suitable reference compounds.
