NH⋯ZnX and OH⋯ZnX hydrogen bonds were shown to play crucial role in crystal structures of heterometallic Ni/Zn coordination compounds [Ni(en)3][ZnCl4], [Ni(en)(Hea)2][ZnCl4], [Ni(dien)2][ZnCl4], [Ni(en)3][ZnCl4] · 2DMSO and [Ni(en)3][Zn(NCS)4] · CH3CN, which shows a architectures of two- and three-dimensions.
