The interaction of the ubiquitin 50-59 fragment with copper(II) ions

A peptide fragment corresponding to the ubiquitin50-59 sequence (LEDGRTLSDY) possesses a very high immunosuppressory activity, comparable to that of cyclosporine. Its copper(II) coordination abilities were investigated by performing detailed spectroscopic analyses in strict correlation with potentiometric measurements.
