Formation equilibria of pseudotetrahedral Co(II) halogenocomplexes in acetonitrile

Co(II)Cl− and Co(II)Br− systems have been studied by spectroscopic methods in acetonitrile (L) at different temperatures and constant ionic strength. The spectra of the pure species ([CoL6]2+, [CoX2L2], [CoX3L]−, and [CoX42−]) present in solution equilibria are reported. The formation (Kn) and dismutation (Kd) constants have been determined.
