Preparation of pyrimidin-2-one derivatives via base-mediated decomposition of uracil-analogues Fischer carbene complex

• Base-mediated demetallation of N-1 and N-3 substituted Fischer tungsten–carbene uracil complexes were studied.
• Reaction on N-1 substituted Fischer tungsten–carbene uracil complexes gave excellent yield only using a large excess of base.
• A practical and efficient synthesis of pyrimidin-2-ones derivatives is described.

A practical and efficient synthesis of pyrimidin-2-one derivatives from Fischer carbene complex uracil-analogues through base-mediated elimination reactions is described. The scope of the protocol has been explored with the preparation of a variety of pyrimidin-2-one derivatives by base mediated demetallation of N-1 and N-3 substituted uracil Fischer carbenes.

Fischer carbene complex uracil analogues were used for the synthesis of pyrimidin-2-ones. A practical and efficient methodology was optimized and applied to the preparation of a variety of pyrimidin-2-one derivatives.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
