Synthesis and reactivity of bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methanes functionalized by 2-halophenyl groups on the methine carbon

► Bis(pyrazol-1-yl)methanes functionalized by 2-halophenyl groups were synthesized. ► Oxidative addition of C-Br bond to Mo(CO)6 or W(CO)5THF was observed. ► N-heterocyclic carbene complexes bearing bis(pyrazol-1-yl)methyl were obtained. ► Reaction of polydentate N-heterocyclic carbene with Ru3(CO)12 was carried out.
