Charge injection and transfer tuning of a series of Pt complexes through oligothiophenes: A theoretical study

► We report the fine tuning of the charge injection and transport abilities of bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) Pt(II) (Ptq2) complex. ► It is found that the 7-positions of the quinoline ligand are the active located point. ► The charge injection and transport abilities will be enhanced by increasing the number of thiophene. ► These Pt complexes are potential of red phosphors in the development of red OLEDs.
