Phase behavior of some mono-substituted ferrocene- and [3]ferrocenophane-containing nematics with the cyclohexane ring in the rigid core

► We have synthesized mesogenic derivatives of ferrocene and ferrocenophane. ► All compounds exhibit thermotropic nematic liquid crystal properties. ► Unusual migration of the phase transition points in repeating cycles was observed. ► The cyclohexane ring in the structure decreases phase transition temperatures.
