Factors that affect the kinetic and thermodynamic acidities of Fischer carbene complexes: New insights from the study of the cationic (methoxymethylcarbene)dicarbonylpentamethylcyclopentadienyl iron ([Cp*(CO)2FeC(OMe)Me]+) in aqueous acetonitrile

The thermodynamic and kinetic acidities of Fischer carbene complexes depend on many structural features but there is no significant correlation between pKa values and intrinsic rate constants. The determination of the kinetic and thermodynamic acidities of 16H+ reported in this paper provides new insights into how structural features affect both.
