The structures of intermediates in the PTC carbonylation of two fluorinated benzyl halide substrates were studied. X-ray crystal and molecular structure of 2- and 3-fluorobenzylcobalt tricarbonyl triphenylphosphine derivatives was determined. The supposed influence of structural parameters on the reactivity is discussed.
Fluorinated phenylacetic acids were obtained from the corresponding benzyl halides using cobalt catalyzed PTC carbonylation. The structure and distribution of intermediates was studied and characterized.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slideHighlights
