Synthesis, structural characterization of some germanium substituted chiral diethyltin derivatives

Five new chiral germanium substituted diethyltin dicarboxylates have been synthesized and characterized by multinuclear (1H, 13C, 119Sn) NMR, 119mSn Mössbauer and IR spectroscopy.2R31GeCH(R2)CH2COOH+Et2SnO→refluxToluene[R31GeCH(R2)CH2COO]2SnEt2+H2OThe X-ray structure of the precursor I4 clearly depicts chiral center in the carboxylate portion of the compound which was further confirmed by the measurement of rotation angle.
