A conformational transition in the adenylyl cyclase catalytic site yields different binding modes for ribosyl-modified and unmodified nucleotide inhibitors

A COMBINE-based QSAR model of ribose-substituted nucleotides bound to adenylyl cyclase generated herein correlates well with measured pKi values, and suggests that ribose substituents may induce a receptor conformational shift.
