Stereoselective synthesis of glycosyl amides by traceless Staudinger ligation of unprotected glycosyl azides

The stereoconservative Staudinger ligation of unprotected α- and β-glucosyl azides with diphenylphosphanyl-phenyl esters to afford α- and β-glucosyl amides is described.
