The use of a combination of activated carbon and nickel microfibers in the removal of hydrogen cyanide from air
چکیده انگلیسی

A hybrid material consisting of an activated carbon powder (50–80 mesh) trapped in 8 μm Ni-microfibers was prepared using standard wet layer paper-making/sintering and impregnation procedures. This was used together with a granular Cu–Zn–Mo–Ag–triethylenediamine impregnated carbon to purify air contaminated with hydrogen cyanide (HCN). This combination of materials improves HCN removal efficiency from air compared with that obtained using granular impregnated carbon alone. The HCN vapor breakthrough behavior for this combination of materials was examined theoretically.
