چکیده انگلیسی
Applying kinetic analysis upon crystallization of metallic glass, a quantitative relation between the critical cooling rate and the onset temperature of crystallization was obtained for glass-forming alloys. Effects of the onset temperature of crystallization, the liquidus temperature and the glass transition temperature on the critical cooling rate were analytically described. Three rules guiding the development of more reliable glass-forming ability criteria are suggested.
► The flaw of γ factor is illustrated.
► A quantitative relation between the critical cooling rate and the onset crystallization temperature was obtained.
► Three rules, which will guide the development of a more reliable GFA criterion, are suggested.
