Characterization of a temperable mixer with the Acetal Cleavage Method
چکیده انگلیسی

The ‘Acetal Cleavage Method’ (aka 4th Bourne reaction or Walker scheme) is a competing chemical reaction scheme for the characterization of mixing processes in stirred laboratory tanks and continuous flow mixers. Due to the overall exothermicity of the reactions, in addition to mixing phenomena, temperature effects are represented in the experimental results. The characterization of a temperable mixer manufactured at the Institute for Micro Process Engineering is reported in this contribution. Furthermore, this examination method is applied to a selection of continuous flow mixers, which have been previously examined with the Iodide Iodate Reaction Method and the Bromination Reaction Method. A comparison of devices and methods is given.Additionally, an overview of earlier literature on this characterization method is presented. Details of the UV analytics are discussed.

► The characterization of a temperable mixer is presented.
► Kinetic and viscosity effects equal out for a set of concentrations widely used.
► Temperature effects could be resolved with modified concentrations.
