Facile synthesis of Li1.2Mn0.54Co0.13Ni0.13O2 porous fiber as cathode material for lithium ion batteries

Li1.2Mn0.54Co0.13Ni0.13O2 is synthesized by the means of mixing cotton with a solution, which contains Li+, Mn2+, Ni2+ and Co2+. XRD spectrum indicates Li1.2Mn0.54Co0.13Ni0.13O2 is consisted of monoclinic phase (C2/m) and a-NaFeO2 phase (R-3m). SEM image shows Li1.2Mn0.54Co0.13Ni0.13O2 material has a porous fiber structure. TEM image presents the constructing particles have an average diameter of about 100 nm. This porous fiber material presents excellent electrochemical performance, can deliver a capacity of 250.3 mAh g−1 at 25 mA g−1 (0.1 C), and can be charged and discharged at 1250 mA g−1 (5 C) with the stable capacity of 110.3 mAh g−1 for 100 cycles.
