Ba1âxSrxMoO4 (x = 0, 0.18, 0.38, 0.60, 0.81, 1) solid-solutions were synthesized by complex polymerization method. The solid solutions were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the Raman spectroscopy. Heat capacity measurements on Ba1âxSrxMoO4(s) were performed with heat flux-type differential scanning calorimeter in the temperature range of 140-870 K. The measured heat capacity values were used to calculate different thermodynamic functions such as enthalpy increment, entropy and Gibbs energy functions. Thermal expansion behavior of Ba1âxSrxMoO4(s) (x = 0, 0.6 and 1) were investigated in the temperature range 298-1273 K by high temperature X-ray diffraction (HTXRD). The specific heat and average volume thermal expansion coefficient of Ba1âxSrxMoO4(s) was found to increase with increase in concentration of strontium. The average volume thermal expansion coefficient of Ba1âxSrxMoO4(s) (x = 0, 0.6 and 1) was found to be 25.59 Ã 10â6, 33.86 Ã 10â6 and 34.37 Ã 10â6 Kâ1 respectively.
