Super-high compressive plastic deformation behaviors of Zr-based metallic glass at room temperature

► The compressive deformation of a Zr-based metallic glass was investigated. ► Large shear transformation zone (STZ) stimulates multiple shear bands. ► An obvious stress valley was found in metallic glass with small STZ.
