Martensitic transformation and precursor phenomena in Au7Cu5Al4 alloys

► Three Au-Cu-Al alloys were studied by dynamic mechanical analysis. ► The temperature for the measurement ranges from 200 to −100 °C. ► Frequency dependent internal friction peaks have been observed in two of them. ► Glass behavior in the alloy is followed by a martensitic transformation.
