X-ray scattering and EXAFS studies of Pt1−xVx alloys

► Homogeneous Pt solid solution was observed in alloys containing up to 20 at.% V. ► Segregation of Pt, PtV and VO2(M) phases were observed in the alloys with 50 at.% V. ► The X-ray absorption coefficient increases linearly with V content up to 20 at.% V. ► Almost constant V-Pt distance indicates disordering in alloys with up to 20 at.% V.
