Remelting treatment and heredity phenomenon in the formation of Fe78Si9B13 amorphous alloy

► Remelting can improve the GFA of Fe78Si9B13 alloy. ► Fe23B6 phase preferentially forms in annealed ribbons spun from the remelted ingots. ► Lattice parameter a0 of α-Fe shows heredity between ingots and annealed ribbons. ► Heredity phenomenon is associated with the Fe23B6 structural units in the melts.
