Magnetic properties of BaxSr1−xFe12O19 (x = 0.05-0.35) ferrites prepared by different methods

► BaxSr1−xFe12O19 ferrites are prepared via sol-gel and solid state reaction methods. ► Grain size is influenced by the Ba content. ► Magnetic moments and anisotropy are sensitive to the local structure of Fe ions. ► HC is higher in samples obtained by sol-gel, oppositely to MS. ► Similar permanent magnet behavior is observed in both sets of samples.
