In situ formation of Ti alloy/TiC porous composites by rapid microwave sintering of Ti6Al4V/MWCNTs powder

► Rapid microwave sintering of Ti alloy/TiC porous composite was achieved. ► Sintering was completed within 2 min. ► Sintering was performed without using any protective gas environment. ► Microstructure and mechanical properties of the composite were reported. ► The composite can potentially be used as a dental implant material.
