Effect of crystal structure on optical properties of sol-gel derived zirconia thin films

► ZrO2 films were deposited by sol-gel method. ► Crystal structures of the films were tuned by different thermal annealing methods. ► The refractive indices vary with the crystal structures of the films. ► Lattice-mismatch was found to reduce the refractive index of ZrO2 films.
